Superlux HD668B Professional Studio Standard Headphones

First Impressions: The last two Superlux’s I’ve heard were both startlingly good for the money, thus I’ve got high hopes for this one. I am worried thot I may be expecting too much and that if its isn’t as crazy good for the money I may be slightly disappointed. So the box, hmm it’s different but still as weirdly neatly put together inside. After grappling them out of the packaging it’s still a pretty good bundle. Two cables is nice, adapter and baggy thing too. No extra pads this time however. Hmm, the headrest thingys aren’t quite even. That probably won’t matter but visually I don’t love that, a little application of might bend it but err, yeah I don’t feel all that comfortable doing that. These are in the hand clearly plasticy and a cheap product. Mind you the last Superlux’s were the same. Hmm. On the ears.

Oh, goodness, these are pretty damn good. Great control in the bass, super nice clarity to them. Hmm that treble might be a little over abundant for me. In acoustic tracks these are really damn bloody good. Mids a touch breathy but seriously excellent for the price. Why are Superlux getting these drivers from? Hmm there is a fair amount of clamping going on here. These are super interesting. Burn in time.

Bass: The bass is quite talented, really very talented and tuneful. It can even rise up when called to give a reasonably bassy presentation. “Your Father And I” rips into a decent bass line, good and hearty bass too. Now it should maybe be a touch more but it’s a good solid bass presentation. The bass quantity is really more about the relative abundance of treble in the track. From what I’ve seen others comment on is that it’s relatively bass light and on the whole I’d disagree with that assessment. There isn’t a lack of bass. There is the exactly right amount called for in the song. Okay so it maybe can’t cling on all the way down to the very bottom but you can’t forget that this is a 20 quid, delivered, headphone. Seriously how the F are they managing that? For the price it’s amazingly cleanly delivered bass. Perhaps it’s too clean for those paying this price, cheap things normally have far more bloom and flab to them which serves to make the bass sound fuller, larger and these don’t. These are clean and nimble all the way and in a way that you really just don’t expect form an el cheapo. I really can see why they are labelled “Professional Studio Standard Headphones” even if they are too much in the uppers for that really.

In terms of raw quantity, these can produce a bit but that’s so long as there isn’t lots of treble. At this level of cuttingly clean the treble is what stands forth.

Mids: Wow they are really impressive.


Highs: The quality, yeah it’s superb, really stupidly impressive. The detail it wants to spit out is wonderful. It’s very forthright and explicit a presentation.

Comfort: They do clamp rathe

Suggestion

after a while the product started to give a sound to the wings, but I think it is luck hope I can get the new. The product is very nice.

Entrega super rápida. Parabéns a Gearbest pelo ótimo atendimento.
Primeiro ponto: Veio tudo embalado certinho. Nada mal feito entre caixa e seus compartimentos para encaixar o Headphone e os componentes.

Segundo ponto: Os componentes vieram em perfeito estado, os dois cabos, tanto o grande quanto o pequeno, o adaptador p2/p10 e o HD668b.

Terceiro ponto: Ótima construção dos alto falantes e bom tamanho, nem grande e nem pequeno, ideal!

Quarto ponto: A Sonoridade é simplesmente brilhante, balanceada com bons graves médios e bastante agudos, nada de estridente. Uso para jogos e as vezes filmes e/ou animes. Excelente imersão no jogo, há um palco sonoro incrivelmente amplo. Resumindo não me arrependo.

Contras:

1 Desconforto após algum tempo de uso, devido as almofadas não serem das melhores. Recomendo nesse ponto trocá-las assim que comprar. Outras lojas vendem tanto no Brasil, quanto fora. A gearbest ainda não possui (infelizmente).

2 Conector macho no headphone é frágil e um pouco impensado, pois se formos ampliar o uso para o público infanto-juvenil que possui o pescoço curto ou qualquer pessoa com essa característica. O cabo fica dobrado e sendo pressionado pelo ombro do usuário, causando dano e estragando logo o emborrachado que envolve a fiação. Presenciei essa experiência de perto com um sobrinho de 10 anos e após pouco tempo de uso (meses), estragou a parte inicial do cabo e o headphone parou de funcionar.


Conclusão:

Não me arrependo em nenhum momento pela compra. Estou impressionado com tamanha qualidade pelo baixo valor do produto, por proporcionar uma experiência única. É um fone que você só trocará por um profissional de linha de luxo.
Super recomendo para todos os tipos de usuários dentre gamers, audiófilos, profissionais do ramo de áudio e usuários comuns!
Deixo em destaque e repito: caso comprar, já encomende novas earpads/almofadas.

Наушники сделаны качественно и их хороших материалов.
Посторонних запахов не имеют.
Насчёт звука хочется сказать отдельно:
Я только сегодня получил эти наушники и соответственно они не прогреты,
но звук меня просто поразил. Глубина и ширина сцены удивительны.
Звучание инструментов и вокала естественное, безо всякой прилизанности
и приукрашенности (я не являюсь любителем эквалайзеров и всяких "улучшалок",
но все таки иногда приходится использовать).
По своему форм-фактору, наушники являются полуоткрытыми и я ожидал от них
"совместного прослушивания с окружающими".
Но на удивление оказалось, что звук поступающий наружу, очень не значителен.
Earphones are made qualitatively and of good stuff.
Have no foreign smells.
About a sound there is a wish to tell separately:
I received these earphones only today and respectively they are not heated-up,
but the sound just struck me. Depth and width of a scene are surprising.
Sounding of tools and vocal natural, without adding of colors (I am not a fan of equalizers).
On the shape factor, earphones are semi-open and I expected from them
"joint listening with people around".
But surprisingly it turned out that the sound arriving outside, very much is not considerable.

Suggestion

Наушники с вентиляцией не дружат и для меня немного жестковаты амбушюры.
Earphones are not on friendly terms with cooling and for me embouchures are a little hardish.

Wow, now this is bang for the buck literally! I have read alot of positive reviews on this product, and i have to add my own, just as positive review to the choir of joy! The design of the headphones is very simple, but its not without function. The light metal structure is adjustable, you can shape it to your liking without effort. The were somewgat tight for me to begin with, so i adjusted the pads that rests on the top of the head and now its a perfect fit. I heard people complain about the earpads, that they were uncomfortable and to hard, however i disagree. I think the earpads are just fine, and i think people complaining did a bad job in adjusting the headphones as i described above. Now to the really funny part, the sound quality. I can just describe it as a very balanced, crisp sound where u can listen to all details in the song not having them obscured by bad sound quality. I find myself listening through lots of old songs, who with Superlux HD668B is resurected to a new, better version of their old selves. If i knew how good these are, i would pay alot more, at least 150 Euros and still felt like i made a bargain. I recomend these head phones without a doubt, especially if you are on a budget, i think you have to pay quite a bit more go get the same or better quality. Epic!

Suggestion

I find myself listening to old songs to much, they sound so much better, its time consuming!

Bass
Bass is tight and has good amount of weight. It is not meant for bassheads. Does not overpower Mids. Would say it's not a too aggressive nor relaxed signature.

Mids
Vocals are slightly forward sounding. You can say they're pretty detailed and clear, with good depth. Vocals are more towards Sonic character rather than neutral.
Partly due to perceived quality

Treble
Couldn't really perform well at the higher frequencies (mid-upper treble)
Mid-upper Treble is a little harsh/sharp and bright
Airy
Guess they need some burn in

Soundstage
As treble is airy, Soundstage complements
Soundstage is wide here (well, it's open back :D)

Sound separation
Separation of sound is well done here
Tried the free DSD album that came with the mojo


No cable microphonics
Cable is thick and solid

Conclusion
I loved it the most on acoustic songs.
Vocals were very intimate while accompanied with a classical/acoustic guitar

Can't tell whether the B represents Bass as I don't own other open back earphones.
But most likely I would say it is a bass boost as it pretty much satisfies me as a bass lover.
