Liquid Plastic Universal Quick Repair Glue Pen

The package arrived quickly and was well packed with a jiffy bag.

Initially was looking forward to this arriving but ultimately it was a big let down. Ok, so where do I start...

Problems:
1) The build quality of the pen is very poor, as on initial use I managed to push the metal nib into the tube and now the en leaks fluid unless I store the pen upside down.
2) the cap does not screw in or clip on properly to the tube.
3) There is a very strong smell with this product and it lingers, unlike normal super glue which dissipates quite quickly. Use this in a well ventilated area only!
4) The 'alleged' curing tie of '5 seconds' or 'quick' is hard to believe, in practice more than 1 minute and the surfaces were still not bonded securely, I had to leave the product for 10 minutes and only then was the bonded surface touch dry. I tried bonding the same material with this glue and normal super glue and the super glue was superior in drying time and securability. The UV light seems like a gimmick.
5) After allowing 2 hours for both samples of this glue an super glued items to dry, I found that item glued with the UV glue was very easily pulled apart when compared to the super glued item.

Ok I guess at the price point I shouldn't have expected but I would have expected it to perform its most basic function an on this it failed.

Generally very disappointed with this product.

Pros:
- Looks to be authentic 5 Second Fix product.
- It worked well on some plastic items where super glue failed to work at all due to very small surface area.
- UV light works well and bonds adhesive.
- Pen design makes precise application easier.
- May be a great alternative to super glue depending on materials.
- Does not have white residue like super glue leaves after it dries.
- Washes off easily from unintended items and hands.

Cons:
- The product arrived leaking in package. It's not because of shipping but the terrible product design.
- The fluid is odorous. Since it came leaking, it was not possible to avoid the odor.
- The UV light is not a squeeze light. It's on or off which makes it harder to use for quick application.
- The pen continues to leak due to terrible design.
- Works best on clear items so the light can penetrate to the fluid while adhered. Best for clear plastics and glass.
- Not exactly something to replace super glue but it can work better depending on materials.
- Not food-safe. Comes with carcinogen warning.

Got it to try out and it works but it's not some revolutionary product to replace super glue. It's only really better depending on conditions. Product package design needs to improve. It leaks like crazy as is.

I thought that I'd try this out as I had a couple of things that needed repairing and I'd had no luck with. A pair of light-frames (modified sunglasses) had a break and the tension that holds the lens in meant that it was almost impossible to hold it together for more than a few seconds, and normal superglue just had no effect. I put the glue on one surface and tried to press it together, but there was still a gap. I added additional glue to fill that gap, then cured it with the UV light. Even though there is a sizeable gap of a millimetre or so (see photos), the repair seems to be good and strong, and I'll have no problems using these again.
The glue is easy to apply a measured amount from the metal tip, by gently squeezing the pen, and doesn't get everywhere, as can be the problem with superglue. The ip is also double protected by a large cap and a rubber sleeve that fits over the tip, to keep it clean for future use.
Highly recommended for those awkward repairs. I'm glad I picked up two.

This stuff is AMAZING!!! It's better than superglue in as much as it doesn't run, it doesn't dry before I'm ready and it's easy to control the flow. Once I have the pieces in place just so it takes just 3-5 seconds of shining the light and it's set! Once it's set it does NOT come apart, it doesn't wiggle or shift in anyway and things I repaired upon receiving this, which was nearly 2 mos. ago, are still repaired and show no signs of weakening. This includes items that get used quite a few times weekly and 1 item that I use every single day. It's my favorite pen which got broken while in the bottom of my purse. It was broken in such a way that I lost the ability to have the ink cartridge come out when I twisted the cap. It works perfectly now, the top twists just like it's supposed to and I do indeed use it every day.

I love this glue!! I am on my second tube and ready to buy two more. I have never seen it NOT work. I have glued plastic to plastic, wood to metal, leather to leather, and even rocks to rocks. In addition, I have glued metal to rocks as well. This is a MUST product for around the house and much better, in my opinion, from super glues or super gels. The one important thing to consider is that you have to follow the instructions and expose the glue to the ultra violet light. Any of the glue not exposed to the light...will not cure and work properly.

Broke a small statue at a very weak spot, that I paid $150 for new. I tried numerous brands of epoxy, glues and whatnot, none them held, always came apart from stress of the weight it was holding. I was leery about spending $10 only to have it not work as the others I used, so I thought ok I'll try this stuff but it will be the last time, I'll junk it if it doesn't hold. Amazing, after coating all around the break and using the UV light it held solid, no more weak spot and I can proudly put the item on the mantle.
