Good value!

The Chewi Lapbook 14.1 is a very nice notebook for it's pricepoint. The 3rd revision has a better heatsink for the processor so it keeps it at max 70 degrees when watching HD video's and around 35/40 at normal use. When the charger is plugged in it increases only with 5 degrees. The only dissapointment is the missing m2 slot.

As for Linux enthousiasts, it is still possible to dualboot the NF L14 model with rEFInd bootloader. The cause of the screen with upperleft cursor when booting from USB is an issue with the grub bootloader.
In order to get a debian based iso to boot, download the "isorespin.sh" script. Start the script and explicitly select the support for apollo lake processor. This option will replace the grub with rEFInd bootloader.
Everything works out of the box except the ALPS0001 touchpad device. It is not supported yet by the latest Linux kernel, so expect to use a USB mouse for the time being.

If linux doesn't boot after installation, boot with the liveusb again and select the linux installation.
After you started linux, open terminal and install refind:
$ sudo apt-add-repository ppa:rodsmith/refind
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install refind

It will ask if you want refind to be your default bootloader.

The batterylife with Linux is imho quite acceptable. Moderate use gives me around 5-6 hours batterylife.
After extensive distrohopping I choose Elementary OS, cause HD 60fps Youtube video's run best with Firefox in this distro.

As a stock windows 10 netbook which it was intended for, it does the job very well.

Pros:
- Good value
- Good batterylife
- Nice screen
- As a Windows 10 laptop intended product, nothing to complain about.

Suggestion

Cons:
- no m2 slot in 3rd revision
- Linux users need to use isorespin.sh to replace grub with a compatible bootloader 'refind'.
- touchpad not supported yet in latest Linux Kernel

CHUWI 14.1 LAPBOOK

The PC is everything you'd expect from an Intel Apollo N3450 processor: fast enough to do everything you nedd for daily use, low consumption (so the battery lasts 7-8h in office use).
The computer is very light, the screen is perfect (very bright and with excellent colours).
The 4GB RAM is enough, and you can expand the 64GB storage with a m.2 SSD.
The plastic case seems pretty scratch-resistant: I've used the laptop everyday for the past 3 months and it's still perfect.

In conclusion: a perfect laptop for office use, with a full keyboard (USA), a long lasting battery and a beautiful screen.

Suggestion

I'd have liked it to have a USB-C port. But it's a small flaw.

Lapbook 14.1

In comparsion to Atom x5-Z8350, computer with Celeron n3450 works much much faster. Screen looks really great! Package is small for 14,1 inch screen. It took me about 6 hours of web browsing etc. to discharge the battery (at 50% screen brightness). 801.11 ac 5GHz WiFi internet works perfect. It has acceptable eMMC speeds.

Suggestion

My screen has a few dead pixels (you can see it at last photo), visible only when screen is black, otherwise at normal use I cant see it anyway.. Touchpad isn't precise, but it will do the job at web browsing and some basic activities. You cant expect clear sound from speakers. When the WindowsModulesInstallerWorker kicks in, it eats 40% of your CPU utilization, computer then works slower.

Not expensive and practical notebook with IPS matrix size of 14.1 inches, with 4 GB of RAM, with the built-in emmc memory size 64 GB and when installing a SSD drive into the connector M2 ( in the latest revision of this connector, unfortunately not) is the possibility of increasing storage on 64-512 GB

almost perfect

Much faster than the usual atom tablets/laptops, for not much more money
very good ips lcd, brightness not exactly stellar but is bright enough for normal use
excellent battery life, 6-10 hours depending on brightness and usage(not including gaming)

Suggestion

sd card reader is useless, keep mounting and dismounting(would have been a perfect 5 star product otherwise)
usb slots a little too tight.

Great purchase for the price tag

* Works wonderfully after cleaning the clutter and installing Lubuntu.
* Light.
* Battery last a LOONG time! Love it!
* Screen is bright and non-reflective
* Audio is not bad except for high volume

Overall, I believe this laptop carries the best specs for the price tag. Would buy again.

Suggestion

* Linux's CWI533 touchpad support is not yet officially support, although there's an unofficial kernel support.
* Keyboard is a little sloppy. Some keys need a bit more force than others to activate.

How to choose a suitable tablet PC?

What can I do if the tablet can not be booted, while the coming logo shows up when charging?

1. It might be because the battery is empty, we advise you to charge it with the original charger over 10 minutes;

2. Press the power button for 30 seconds to force it to boot;

3. For Android OS there might be a problem of software, so you need to press the power button and volume "+" simultaneously to reset factory; for Windows OS, you should flash.
How to switch between Android and Windows on the dual OS tablet?

In usual dual system tablet, there is an Android logo on the mission board, located at the bottom of Windows interface. You can easily switch from Android to Windows by clicking on the logo. If you're using Android, just swipe down the screen from the top, right side, you will see a changing-to-Windows icon. Tap on it to switch OS.
Why is there no response after the keyboard is connected to the tablet?

1. You need to make sure whether the keyboard is compatible with the tablet;

2. Make sure you have plugged the cable into the docking slot correctly;

3. You need to reboot your tablet after connecting it to the keyboard.
What is the activation code of the device?

Now all systems are active, so there is no need to ask for an activation code. Your device can be used directly after you connect it to WiFi.
Why does the tablet always shut down by itself?

This might happen because of viruses, please try again after scanning and removing viruses by some anti-virus program.
Why is there no response when the new device is charging?

It might be because it was not switched off after checking and ran out of power during shipping. Press the power button for 30 seconds to turn it on after you have connected it to the charger. If it doesn't work, please try to change USB cable and charger. If all the above instructions don't work and your tablet still won't charge properly, that might be a trouble of software in your equipment and you need to flash it.
Why the SD card can only be read by Android OS but not by Win10 OS?

If you want the SD card to be read on Windows10, you first need to remove your SD card, switch to Windows10, turn off your device and then reboot.
Why the device cannot boot or start up properly?

Please charge your new device for at least 10 minutes or more before first usage, this ensures normal device boot and optimal operation. For devices with removable batteries, ensure they are properly installed before charging.
Why it only recognize some TF cards whose capacity is smaller than the one in the description?

If the systems cannot read the TF card, that might be because the tablet only recognizes some specific kinds of TF card. If only Android can read it and Windows cannot, there must be a problem of BIOS and you need to flash BIOS.
