    I own 8 projectors and I have owned video projectors for over 30 years. I have paid as much as $10,000 for a projector which was a NEC 600 x 400 projector that I bought in 1995. Today, I own projectors by 3M, Vivatek, Optoma, Pyle, LG and now Excelvan. Most projectors today either use a DLP or three LCDs. Last year, I bought a Pyle video projector for just under $300.00 that was very similar to the Excelvan 720. The Pyle unit was slightly heavier but offered similar specifications. I bought this unit as a spare to augment my Vivatek H1185HD. The H1185HD uses a bulb that needs to be replaced after a few thousand hours. I decided to use the lower priced unit for regular TV watching and conserve the bulb for special occasions such as watching movies or when I had company. I bought the Excelvan to put in the family room. I was using a Pico projector in the room which worked reasonably well at night but not so well in the daytime. The Pico projector was 843 x 400 resolution so the Excelvan offered better resolution.

    I set up the Excelvan using a Roku box. When my family came home, they were astonished by the image. It was bright and sharp. The color and contrast was much better than the Pyle unit I had bought the year before.

    I have two 720P projectors that use DLP. I have a LGPW800 and a Qume5. I believe that the LG PW800 is the best of two as it offers stunning&nbsp

    Decent low-cost projector
    For the price, this is a nice buy. It does appear to be 720P and is fairly bright and projection can get pretty big. It looks better in a darkened room but usable in the daytime or a lit room at night. I am surprised at the features and it is simple to use. The instruction book is easy to read and useful. I am able to get a sharp picture and adjust the brightness depending on the ambient light.

    On the other hand, the fan is kind of loud. I would not mount it permanently but it is OK for when you need the portability. It also blows out hot air wide open all the time. Over time, the room starts to heat up. It has a mechanical keystone adjustment. It works to a point but things get blurry and parts of the picture cannot be focused when it is near its largest adjustment. The picture is straight but you would not want to watch it. Because of this, the machine needs to be as level as possible. With my temporary set up, I got it as level as possible and then left the keystone out of skew. The picture is not squared off but it is all focused. My unit has a small dimple at the top of the screen like an internal part is sticking in near the lens. Not a big bother but I will contact the seller to see how they would like to handle it.

    I like it. Will keep unless the dimple issue turns out to be more of a problem than it is now. I don't notice is most of the time.

    If what you're looking for is rock-bottom priced 720p then go no further. This is what you need.
    This product really does it's job, and at it's price point there is nothing better. Don't waste the extra money buying the 'android' projector. Pair this with a streaming stick and a tv box that has hdmi or RCA out and you're set.

    It has a native resolution of 720p which is perfect for last-gen consoles and antenna TV. We use this to have movie/game night in the backyard and it's perfect even on a huge screen in a dark environment. It's not used when the lights are on.

    There are two drawbacks. The first is that the power cord does not fit snugly into place so a slight wiggle and the unit will power down. This isn't a problem or safety concern when it's ceiling mounted, but when the cords are near a medium traffic area and might get bumped expect the power to go off. It does have a fuse so that's good. The other drawback is keystone correction. Although it can be keystoned, getting the image to focus at the edges and the center simultaneously is not possible. Something is always less than ideally focused. This isn't a major concern because most of the screen is good. but when watching sports or playing video games if the center is in focus the mini-map or scorebox might be a little fuzzy.

    Having said that the UI is intuitive, and it has mirror, flip, and mirror flip. And the colors are acceptably balanced.

    Лучше быть и не могло. При такой цене про проблемы забываешь моментально.
    Да чуток шумит, но не сильнее, чем ламповые. Тем более, что ламповые необходимо долго выключать и система охлаждения шумит еще минут 5 после отключения лампы.
    Да это не FHD, но это уже HD, а не 800х600.
    Все крутится, все настраивается.
    Через VGA сигнал идет замечательно HDMI чуть краснит, но это надо искать кабель.Если брать фильмы 720p то выглядит все замечательно, флэшки читает.
    Больше никаких просмотров на экране компьютера, только через проектор.
    На знакомых с их 60" телеками смотрю свысока, посчитал где-то 85 дюймов, но можно и больше.

    Suggestion
    Линза с обратной стороны в пыли, но до разбора не дошел. Все и так отлично видно.
    На плате пульта трещина, не все кнопки рабочие, но это однозначно брак. Мне было нужно только включение, потому как видео вывожу с компьютера. Оно работает.
    Сложно фокус настроить. Криво стоит линза или матрица. Но даже на расстоянии в 3-4 метра кривизна не бросается в глаза.
    Шум? Умоляю! Ламповые в разы сильнее шумят.

    Great value for cheap 720P projector, performs as expected, neither better nor worse
    Has all the connections we wanted: successfully tested with VHS, DVD, BlueRay, and Apple TV. Installed with a mount from the ceiling, and works well for us in our very dark basement. The speaker is not the loudest but is adequate to hear movies over the noticeable fan noise. We have a 125" diagonal projection on an ordinary white painted wall. Color accuracy is not as good as a $600 or $3k projector, but satisfactory for this $150 one - from reading previous reviews, I'm really glad they fixed the red balance issue - it's not a problem in our unit. The kids love it and have been testing it very thoroughly. I plan to take it outside on summer evenings and project on the side of the house by our pool - will need it pretty dark for that to work - this projector won't tolerate much ambient light.

  • The projector's remote is not working correctly, what can i do?

    Replace the remote's batteries if necessary and make sure that you're using it within its standard operating range (around 8 meters).
