XINLIN X165 mini quadcopter

To start off, this is a very different looking nano quad, it is reminiscent to the mini 250 racing fpv quads that people use at the races. without the fpv of course, that would just be insane on a nano quad! Anyway, this is a pretty fun quad to fly around the house and the all black body looks great as well and also flies reasonably well. To get better flights out of it, I recommend buying some spare props from the syma x12 or x12s, and if you cant find any of those try the UFO intrude props as these both work much better than the stock props. The ones that come with the quad are too small in reguards to the weight of the craft, in my opinion, and there is a huge difference with the syma x12 props, its more powerful, and faster. So if you like the look of this quad, please consider getting a different set of props for it.

Suggestion

This quad is a bit on the heavy side for nano, which it still is a nano but a bit on the larger side of the scale. The props are to small, and do not provide enough lifting power in my opinion. Not a good candidate for night flying either as the blue eyes are the only leds you get on this aircraft. Lastly, the controller emits a rediculously loud beeping sound that is easily mended by opening up the transmitter and simply snipping the wires to the tiny speaker inside of it. So, in summary the 2 main problems plauging this quad are quite easily fixed with some new pops from a symz x12 or x12s, or the UFO intrude. And simply cutting the wires to the speaker inside the tx if you dont like insanely loud beeps coming from your tx.

Super flyer

I have to say this is a very good Quadcopter, It flew really well straight out of the box. Fantastic design and a very good mini flying machine. I have been flying for a few years and this was truly effortless to fly. Casual flyers won't need to worry about such details though. This works right out of the box without any drama or complications. The stick movements have to be very slight movements because it is very sensitive. Definitely recommend it but not to a complete beginner because it requires a bit of finesse to handle correctly. Still a wonderful quad.

Cool and fun to use :D

Geez, these damn gyros just keep getting smaller and smaller!!! Loving this SINLIN X165. I've owned a few small quads before and have to say that this XINLIN is among the easiest to operate and very responsive compared to the others I've used before. If you're new to RC, it will take a while to get used to the RC controls and to learn how the quadcopter behaves and operates but the learning curve isn't particularly steep. For more advanced users, this has great functionality and solid design. Good price as well.

XINLIN X165 4 CH Mini 2.4G Quadcopter

Great price for this little drone. I've been using it for 2 days now and still got to learn how to fly it, but I like it very much.
It has 2 eye-like blue LEDs that can help you see it in the night. It flys about 6 min max.
The remote only uses 2 AAA battery and seems it last quite a bit. Did not get to test the max altitude because of the wind outside but I'll check that out.

Looks aren't everything

High Gloss Piano Black finish and sleek lines make it by far one of the coolest looking drones I've experienced.
Holds a good hover and works well indoors.
Performs stunts with great deal of control and very little loss of altitude.
USB cable easily plugs directly into drone for short 20-25 minute full charge.
Overall, beginners will enjoy the rugged durability and steady flight characteristics and should be able to master it in a short time.

Suggestion

Slow input response causes a bit of drift when maneuvering making it not ideal for more experienced pilots.
LEDs are not visible at all during flight making night flights a no-go.
Battery life only gives about 5-6 minutes flying time.
Headless mode DOES NOT EXIST.
Return home feature DOES NOT EXIST.
Overall, it doesn't stand out in any feature other than looks, so may eventually end up collecting dust on the shelf.

Worked for 10 min, broke a blade, replaced said blade with replacement blades sent with package, only 1/4 of which match the wing pattern, then charge unit for 30-40 minutes unit the LED light is off, Tried to power up and fans moved at half speed for a second, shut down and blinks the USB light.

Fantastic little quadcopter

So much fun! This is a real delight to use, esp. during the summer and when it's dark outside so you can see all the cool lights! Really wonderful and enjoyable to play with. Very relaxing and a good way to just unwind and chillout. It's also a good size, not too large or small, so it's easy to handle as well as store when not in use. Overall, giving this a thumbs up.

Xinlin mini quad

It's really fun to play with this quad. Used to have a JJRC H36 before, but I found this a lot easier to control. This one is also significantly smaller, so I only use it indoors. Looks a lot cooler than in the pictures, and makes a cool noise! Have no idea about damage tolerance, cause I had no rough landings yet.

Suggestion

JJRC H36 has noticeably longer flight time and also equipped with a crash cage, which protects rotors.

Why does one of the blades not spin?

1. Check the tightness of the blades;

2. Remove the blade that does not spin to see if the motor is working properly;

3. If the motor does not work, check whether the motor gear is connected properly;

4. Remove the body shell, check if the motor cable is connected to the mainboard appropriately.
How to bind the quadcopter and the transmitter?

First turn on the quadcopter power switch, place it in a horizontal position, then turn on the transmitter. Push the left throttle lever to the highest position, and then pull it back to the lowest position. You will hear a clear "di, di" sound and the indicator light will stop flashing and just stay lit, meaning the frequency adjustment is completed and your quadcopter is ready to take off.
Why the indicator light of the quadcopter is flashing?

1. The quadcopter is not binding to the transmitter correctly, please refer to the user manual to re-modulate the frequency;

2. Battery power is insufficient, recharge the battery.
Why one of the blades spin slower than others?

1. Check the tightness of the blades ;

2. Adjust the trim key ;

3. Re-modulate the frequency, the quadcopter must be put on a flat ground;

4. Re-calibrate gyroscope.
How to distinguish the steering of a blade?

Blades are usually marked with A, B or R. Diagonal direction blades have the same steering, adjacent blades have opposite steering.
How to judge the steering of a motor?

1. Usually, motor with red and blue wires is usually a forward motor, while the reversed motor presents black and white wires. Diagonal direction motors have the same steering, adjacent motors have opposite steering.

2. On the motor surface sometimes you can find CW or CCW. CW stands for forward motor, while CCW refers to reversed motor.
Why the transmitter has no reaction when operated?

1. Check and make sure that the batteries are installed by the right polarity;

2. Battery power is insufficient, please full charge the battery, or replace with a full charge battery.
Why the voltage of single battery cell is lower?

Single battery cell voltage imbalance is a normal phenomenon. Large current discharge will usually lead to voltage difference. This may be caused by poor contact between battery and charger, and the customer should adopt balance charge mode to charge the battery.
Why even though all blades spin, the quadcopter still cannot flip / rotate / take off?

1. Battery power is insufficient, recharge the battery;

2. Check whether the blades are installed correctly.
