Khadas VIM2 Basic TV Box

Among all single-board computers - the most powerful device with an excellent design. Preinstalled operating system optimized for hardware, with the starting set of main programs. The ability to change the OS to another Linux family. Many ready-made images of operating systems. A large, developing community. Easy to use - turned on and use. Excellent build quality. The device looks beautiful. There is a CEC protocol; going into hibernation. Excellent Wi-Fi module. Definitely recommend it to everyone.

Suggestion

Of the minuses - a small number of USB ports and you have to connect an additional USB-hub. There is not enough power from USB 2.0 to connect an external hard drive (HDD), only via a USB hub. No USB 3. There is no CPU cooling cooler. Chips are noticeably heated and heat must be removed. Now there is no support for 4K hardware decoding. A regular video player does not reproduce or poorly decode mkv video. No audio output.

- Compativél com o CEC (funciona com o controle da TV - essa função tem q existir na TV); - O sistema Android sobe em menos de 10 segundos, mesmo depois que instalei uns aplicativos; - Dual OS; - Visual clean; - Procedimento para atualização muito traquilo (Não esqueçam de fazer backup caso queiram os dados); - Pode servir ate como um computador para acesso a internet; e - Em resumo: otima aquisição;

Suggestion

- Não funciona muito bem com a saida USB da TV (a tv não tem carga o suficiente - não chega nem a ser um ponto contra); - Esquenta um pouco e as vezes da uma travada, mas nada que um cooller não resolva; e - Dificil encontrar cooler para a case, pois o perfil dela é muito baixo.

Great device, exactly what I expected. The perfect arm PC for me to play with. Have got Ubuntu installed (after a slight hiccup flashing the image but that was sorted on the Khadas forums which are reasonably active.) Have decided to put mine on its edge to aid airflow (as per picture) - seems to keep CPU temp a couple of degrees lower.

Good quality product with nice specs. Friendly dev team with sources available on their github account. There is a discussion forum 4pda. Power supply required powerful. When powered from a simple USB device sometimes rebooted.

A capable and good quality TV box

a Compact box in an attractive acrylic case. Has 2 USB ports as well as a high speed Ethernet port. Runs quite well and the ROM size and 3Gb RAM is useful for many multimedia or other computing tasks. Can load other Linux based OS, i.e Ubuntu Mate which runs decently.

Suggestion

The box gets quite hot when it performs CPU intensive tasks like watching video for instance. The 3 utility buttons for power, reset and update is a bit small and somewhat awkwardly placed.

It supports Miracast, Airplay, DLNA.

No, it doesn't.
What kind of language does it support?

It comes with Android system, so it supports multi language.
Can it work with Linux?

It works with Linux, LibreELEC and so on.
Why the screen is blurry on starting up?

The HDMI connection is not well, you can try:

1. Switch the HDMI port;

2. Change a new HDMI cable, also you can try other TV.
Why does the box stay on the splash screen and cannot get into the system?

This is mainly caused by incorrect power cut when the box is still operating, try to reset your box. If still not working, you have to flash the ROM.
